The Rotary Club of Almaden Valley, chartered in 1969, has 40 to 45 men and women representing a wide cross-section of local businesses and professions. The club meets each Friday for fellowship, lunch, and interesting and informative programs dealing with topics of local and global importance. The club is a member of Rotary District 5170 comprised of 59 clubs and approximately 4000 members.

Announcements
It is with pleasure to announce that Arley C. Marley III, has been selected by the Nominating Committee to serve as the District Governor of Rotary International District 5170 for the 2011-2012 Rotary year. Arley is a past president of the Rotary Club of Sunnyvale.
Roger Hassler reminded us that all Club Members must take the 1 hour Youth
Protection course and the LiveScan is highly recommended.
Loren Harper has been selected to serve as the 2009-2010 District 5170 Governor
District 5170 ranked #9 among the 529 Rotary Districts of the world with a
total contribution of $953,255 to Rotary Foundation.
Paul Consentino announced that our water project in Ethiopia has been put to work and the project is well under way
Club funds are also at work at Casa
Guatemala; $2000 to help fund a facial reconstructive surgery project for children, and another $3000 for general operating expenses.
