ROTACARE FREE CLINIC ANNUAL REPORT - 2006


The San Jose RotaCare Free Clinic is staffed by dedicated volunteer doctors, nurses, pharmacists and translators who provide medical care for the relief of pain and suffering to those who have the greatest need and the least access to medical care. The clinic treats ailments such as flu, cough, high blood pressure, ear infection, skin diseases, asthma and diabetes. Appointments are not necessary. The RotaCare Clinic does not receive any government funding or insurance reimbursement.
  • Average number of patients seen each clinic night = 35
  • Total number of patients seen for the year = 1820
  • 400+ patients referred for blood work
  • 100+ patients referred for radiology services
  • Value of medications ($35,000), lab services and x-rays ($14,000), and medical equipment ($400) provided free to patients.
  • Total number of volunteers = 90+
  • Hours donated: doctors (600), nurse practitioners (250), physician assistants (50), nurses (200), pharmacists (150), EMT/paramedics (150), interpreters (750), pharmacist techs (150) and administrative/clericals (900)
  • Total number of hours donated = 3,200
  • Total value of donated hours = $125,000
